Mr. RAVIPRAKASH KARCHERLA is a senior management professional, with more than 38 years of work experience in the field of Automation, Railway Signalling, Telecommunications and Automatic Fare collection systems. He has done B.Tech in Electronics & Telecommunications from Jawaharlal Technological University Hyderabad in 1982 and Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from IGNOU, DELHI in 1996.  He is also a Fellow of Institute of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE), UK and helped in building the pools of young signalling Engineers in India during the last two decades. He was associated with large Multinational companies like ALSTOM, SIEMENS, INVENSYS RAIL and THALES as Business unit head/ Country Director by establishing these entities in India and ensuring their business growth. He was instrumental in introducing new technologies such as Electronic Interlocking & ETCS in Indian Railways and DTG/ CBTC in the Metro applications. He retired as Country Business unit Director – Transportation for THALES India after successfully deploying India’s Largest CBTC project of 70 KMs at Hyderabad Metro. Currently Mr. Raviprakash is working as an Advisor & Consultant to KRIDE, a joint venture of Govt of Karnataka and Ministry of Railways to deploy Bangalore Suburban Rail Project..

* He retired as Country Business unit Director – Transportation for THALES India after successfully deploying India’s Largest CBTC project of 70 KMs at Hyderabad Metro.
* Earlier, he worked as Director- Signalling at ALSTOM and delivered Delhi Metro Line 1 and 2 during 2001-2007.
* He also was the Country Head and Managing Director of WESTINGHOUSE RAIL INDIA and introduced WESTRACE Interlocking systems in the Indian Railway network.
* In a career spanning 38 years in the domains of Avionics, Process Control automation and Railway signalling, he had performed roles in Design, Engineering and Manufacturing before moving into the senior management position within Railway signalling Industry.
